As with most surveyors, Bob Turner has spent a lifetime around boats and the boating community. The love affair with all things that float started at age six, watching his father lovingly apply the finishing touches on a classic mahogany runabout. Through trial (painful) and error (many) he taught himself sailing after purchasing a 14’ one design sloop with a broken wooden spar for one hundred dollars. The ensuing forty five years have been spent under intense hands on “continuing education” while employed in building and repairing glass, wooden and steel boats, sail making, stainless steel and aluminum fabrication, rigging and yacht carpentry.
